Dear Folks,
My little filly “Sage,” made her first venture into show business and was a natural. We were too late to enter her in competition but she was washed, braided and groomed and pampered to the hilt. She loved it, most horses bolt when the dryer is put on them. Sage fell asleep under the dryer. lol She was sent into the arena during the “Stallion Parade”, and the buzz behind me in the bleachers was; Oohs and Ahhhhhs “Look at the black one.” I was so proud. She behaved as though she had done this many times and seemed to enjoy the whole thing. I have left her at the Breeders Ranch and she is on special feed and kept blanketed and given special exercise to ready her for the next show in Jan. Then she will be in contention for the Prize Purse Money. It is all very exciting. I ordered a “Brag” sweater from Home Shopping Network. It is a Story Book Knit Design and has plastic inserts that hold pictures. So, I wore that to the horse show, filled with pictures of my horses. Of course, I just had to keep pointing out my beautiful baby to any that would look or listen. I can be such a bore. lol I just had my wonderful dogs all groomed and they look so pretty I really should find a photographer and have a Christmas picture taken. Maybe I could even get my Ron in it as he is off work this week. Rarity of rarities. The cold weather is upon us. About 35 degrees last night. That means Ron is busy putting the plastic over the windows. We will get the horse blankets out and ready the Barn for the horses. We need to move the Chickens to a new location, since the old “Chicken Tractor”; {a chicken pen without a bottom, that can be moved from place to place as the chickens cultivate the ground},is now in the path of a natural stream when it rains. Then the poor chickens begin to wonder if they are ducks. lol Gads, my humor is getting so country. Well, off to make some home made clam chowder and corn bread for that “hard working,” man of mine. We will spend Thanksgiving, just the two of us “OLE folks with our critters on the land.” Aint, life grand? Happy Thanksgiving to you all.
Love, Mary
Never heard of this before, but thanks for opening up my eyes.
